laws of the game

(At least) two versions of the rules...

We play to the laws of the game set either by the Football Association, or the Walking Football Association, depending on the competition.

Click on the FA & WFA links for details.

There are also local rules adopted by clubs/leagues, especially to cover pitches that are boarded. The best example beng the Northern Premier League (NPL) Matchplay Laws which are reproduced below.

The Rules we Apply at our training sessions

... Are closely based on the laws of the game as sanctioned by the FA. However, as the FA laws apply specifically to competitive matches, we have incorporated a few minor amendments to reflect that our club sessions are not fully competitive and that we need to be mindful of the need to protect the wellbeing of all of our members. These session rules have been agreed between our management committee and our (qualified) referees in order to ensure the safety of ALL of our players.
